The Men’s Bible Study Group has been going strong now for several years. They meet  twice a month early on Saturday mornings, so it does not interfere with other Saturday activities. Once a month they share breakfast together, and determine the focus of the groups activities.

So, why a men's Bible study? Can a men's Bible study give a man a better and clearer understanding of the Bible than another type of Bible study? Does a men's Bible study offer something different or special to a man which he might not otherwise get in a group of women or children? The answer to this question is a resounding 'YES'!

We know that men, women and children all deal with different issues. A child doesn't worry about paying the bills, a man doesn't worry about getting pregnant, and a woman doesn't worry about making the college football team. Since we know each group has specialized thinking, concerns, and emotions, we need to take this understanding and apply it when studying the Bible. The Men's Bible Study deal specifically  with issues that affect men.

Men have their own set of fears, joys, emotions, and temptations.  The truth is men face a variety of challenges.  These can include issues with integrity, self-worth, fidelity, sexuality, health concerns, overcoming a mid life crisis, and even accepting their role as a father or husband.

Some of our elder gentlemen frequently act as mentors to our younger men and share their wealth of knowledge gained through their own life experiences.

At First Lutheran, our Men’s Bible Study shares God's truth dealing specifically with a man's heart, life and the unique challenges that we face, and as a group we can share our experiences, our insights, and help one another to keep God’s word as we grow in faith and our commitment to the Lord.
